Senlin Zhu is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Animal Nutrition at the College of Animal Sciences, Zhejiang University, and will be based at ETH Zurich until June 2025. His doctoral research focuses on the gastrointestinal microbiome of dairy cows and its interactions with the host, exploring novel antioxidant secondary metabolites through bioinformatics, deep learning techniques, and experimental validation. During his time at ETH, he will delve into the hydrogenase enzymes in the cow rumen using deep learning approaches, with the aim of applying these findings to methane reduction strategies.
